This week Mark’s love of Rocket League has spread to David, but with Metal Gear looming, will the interest still be there? Even Tyler is itching to play. Sal spends some hard earned money on a blast from the past as we spend some time on the Gameboy Advance SP and Pokemon. Among the free Playstation Plus this month is one the podcast crew is very familiar with, Capy’s “Super Time Force Ultra”, a must download for all. Dave’s contribution to the “Divinity: Original Sin 2” Kickstarter makes the difference and we worry about the revamped battle system for the Final Fantasy VII remake. This week’s rabblechallenge was a bit controversial as it seemed the android crowd got an easier version called “Bricky Raider” whereas the iOS crowd got “Blocky Raider”.
It’s our 100th episode and to celebrate it we have our favourite pal Sal join us for the first time at the RabbleHQ. Also back from a hiatus we have David Knapton from the Rabble Lounge. We lift the temporary ban on Splatoon and Amiibos for Sal, and delve into the long history of video game controllers and find some that we completely missed out on. The Rabblechallenge this week was a very competitive one as it came down to the wire, but as per usual a high score blows it out of the water.
Mark returns but hasn’t played anything new, in fact the entire crew didn’t which got us all to talking about gaming debt! As with the film, more Star Wars news is discussed as we talk about the new bundles and the dogfighting mode shown at Gamescom. Another Final Fantasy VII makes the news but it’s not exactly what you think it is, Del Toro has a video game curse, and yet another epic score takes the rabblechallenge this week!
Breaking sad news as we find out moments before the podcast of the passing of Nintendo President Satoru Iwata, a legend in the industry. We also talk of Microsoft’s continued struggle in the Japanese Market; is Windows 10 the answer? Chris shows us Rocket League, a free game available to all PS Plus members, while Sal and Mark are still playing Splatoon and Arkham Knight respectively. Techinical difficulties results us in losing Trottier and newcomer Jeff on the podcast but we still manage to roll on. And as always, the Rabblechallenge winners for Fruit Ninja are announced, albeit with some confusion.
